Hawks Arrive in South Africa

The USA Hawks arrived in Pretoria, South Africa, on Monday evening at 6:35 p.m. local time, as they prepare for their historic two-game test series against South Africa.

The first test will take place at Centurion Rugby Club in Pretoria on Wednesday, December 4th, with a kick-off scheduled for 18:00 local time (8:00 a.m. PST / 11:00 a.m. EST). The second test will follow on Saturday, December 7th, at Grizzlies Rugby Club in Pretoria, with a 16:00 local time kick-off (6:00 a.m. PST / 9:00 a.m. EST).

The team wasted no time in adjusting to the 7-hour time difference, completing both morning and afternoon training sessions, along with photo shoots and presentations in a packed schedule.

Wes Piggins commented on the warm conditions, with temperatures reaching 99°F. He noted that the higher altitude would pose a good challenge for the team but expressed excitement for the upcoming match and has enjoyed the experience so far.

Final preparations for the first test will include a light captain’s run tomorrow morning before the evening kick-off.
